CBLN Mission Statement

 The Cheyenne Business Leadership Network is an employer led initiative dedicated to providing opportunities to build a diverse workforce and customer base that includes persons with disabilities.

 

Our program goals include developing business leaders who actively promote recruiting and retaining employees and customers with disabilities, and to provide disability awareness to the general public.  

The Cheyenne BLN is sponsored by the Wyoming Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Synergy HRD & Associates, and many local businesses.

The Business Leadership Network is sponsored by the State of Wyoming - Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, in partnership with related government agencies, business and community organizations - all of whom share a common interest in promoting employment opportunities & community access for people with disabilities.

The BLN is your resource to recruit, hire and train employees with disabilities. We can provide you with the information and resources you need to tap into this valuable emerging market. Whether your business has five employees or five hundred, the CBLN tailors all services to meet your individual business needs:

  • Promoting the employment of people with disabilities
  • Connecting qualified job seekers with employers
  • Growing the talent through mentoring for self reliance, self-sufficiency and full citizenship
  • Public education and training on diversity and disability awareness
  • Matching career interests to opportunity

BLN Program Goals

·     Assist businesses to attract and retain new employees and customers with disabilities

·     Develop business leaders who value diversity and actively work to promote strong communities that include people with disabilities

 

BLN Programs

  • Educate local business partners and employers about the value of using best practices in becoming disability friendly and diverse workplaces
  • Develop mutually beneficial programs for businesses for community outreach programs between businesses, government, community groups and persons with disabilities and their families
  • Provide ongoing community educational programs supporting best practices towards diversity and disability friendly communities, including using People First Language and disability awareness training
  • MentorAbility Program: A partnership with local high school districts to provide career development skills and mentoring to students with special needs.

The BLN provides many opportunities to partner with and sponsor events and programs. Please contact the director for details and current programs being offered or see sponsorship page of this Web site for details.

  • BLN Membership- From $250 and up. Provides basic sponsorship, affiliation and access to educational events
  • Become a Sponsor – Your sponsorship provides funding for local educational events and fundraising projects:

    • MentorAbility Youth Program

There is currently no lead sponsor company for the CBLN.  Interested businesses with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and employment of people with disabilities are invited to talk with us regarding this important opportunity.

The US Business Leadership Network (USBLN®) is the national organization that supports development and expansion of its BLN affiliates across the country, serving as their collective voice. It is the only national disability organization led by business for business. The USBLN® recognizes and promotes best practices in hiring, retaining, and marketing to people with disabilities. There are 55 Business Leadership Network affiliates in 32 states, including the District of Columbia, representing more than 5,000 employers across the US.
